A well
A tree
A hand full of stones
Today’s message is an attempt to view some well known scripture stories as if Jesus was writing about the events
It starts with the Samaritan woman (John 4) coming to the well only to find herself confronted by Christ Himself. A discussion is had with Jesus writing his own thoughts into the well known narrative.
Luke 19 has us up a large tree with a small man who is looking for a way out of his self made predicament. This situation sees a dramatic change in Zach as he realizes the true nature of the Man who has visited his house, again it is viewed with poetic license through the eyes of Jesus
The third and last has us in John 8 where Christ is focused on those who would violently end the life of an adulterous woman, thus the title a hand full of stones. Jesus not caught unawares by their underlying intentions is seen dealing with their religious world views. By the end of it all a fallen lady had found forgiveness and a bunch of men were sent away to reflect on their own lives
The message is then brought to a close by reviewing all three stories offering;
Unwarranted protection
Undeserved forgiveness
Unexpected conversion
And an improbable evangelist
