Terra Australis (Latin for the unknown land of the south) so the ancient inhabitants of the northern hemisphere said was down in the southern ocean and was there to balance the world.

This perception persisted for many a year

Explorers attempted to find it, then in 1606 a Portuguese navigator working for the Spanish sailed alongside coastal islands north east of Australia, naming it La Australia del Espiritu Santo thinking it to be the yet undiscovered southern continent Terra Australis

Then in modern Australia’s recent past a singer writer, Geoff Bullock ceasing on these words penned the lyrics to the song “The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit”

This is our nation this is our land

This is our future this is our hope

A land of reaping a land of harvest

This is our land this is our home

Although we don’t hear much of it, down through the years revivals have come to different locations and communities within Australia

Through a concert of prayer for His Spirit to fall mightily upon a secularized people we may be able to say once again, to this land revival comes
