Images and stories out of Christchurch are heart wrenching,as too have the ones been from the QLD floods. The mother who had her child torn from her grip moments before she herself was winched to safety leaves a mark on the hearer which won't quickly be forgotten.
Nor will the small coffin used for the 5 month old boy buried the other day in Christchurch.

The images haunt the faces distraught
Then closer to home a family from Graceville who had salvaged some possessions from Brisbane's floods relocated them to a rented premises out at Forest Lake only to have that house raised to the ground by fire
Everything has gone. Can "lighting strike at the same place twice", it did for this family
Back down in Christchurch the lady (Sue Spigel) who was dragged to safety through the Cathedral window after the tower has collapsed on her said her survival was a miracle. She is the Cathedral's artist in-residence and has confirmed (once her body has healed) her next piece of artistry will be a quilted wall hanging depicting the window which shielded her from falling debris and the 23rd Psalm "The Lord Is My Shepherd."

Too many people have walked into the valley of death since the beginning of 2011, but let's keep our eye on the Good Shepherd who Himself gave His life to rescue the troubled and lost soul (John 10v11)
And of this we can be assured
Blessings
