The mauling to death of a child by a pit bull terrier cross was made even more abhorrent when you find out the dog had  entered the family home to kill the 4 year old girl (whose name is

Ayen Chol).  The breed should be banned as human safety is more important than the desire of some to own them, and in this case illegally.

Up in Queensland we have flying foxes, which due to government regulations fly freely in their thousands. Through the bats horses pick up disease with the Hendra virus being passed on to humans of which the majority who catch this virus off the horse die

In the book of Genesis I read that God gave man dominion over all that dwells in the sea, walks on land and flys through the sky (chapter 1) but what we see today appears to fly in the face of humanity’s call to rule or have dominion.  At times it seems some amongst us are trying to make humans a little lower than the animals with the end consequence being fatal for those who never recovered from the Hendra virus and people (mainly women,  children and the aged)  who have succumbed to dog attacks. Ayen’s family need to be prayed for as too the 2 others the dog attacked before charging her. 

We also need to pray for the direction in which our society is being taken by misguided individuals who do not recognize God in community and the value of human like and whose image we are made in.
