Today with our children we are celebrating Jesus Christ’s birthday, which may seem somewhat odd seeing the majority of the world does it December 25th. It is commonly understood Christ’s birthday could have been January or even later in March, April or May with some thought suggesting it could be as late as October. (It was some couple of hundred years before the early church started to take note of a particular date) Imagine finding a birthday cake big enough to hold all the candles! The name Ancient Of Days aptly fits His birth day In all honesty the date doesn’t really matter – does anyone really know the birth date of the reigning queen and from 2012 in Queensland we are changing the date anyway His coming, whenever the day or month was showed the God of creation had not abandoned us to a disastrous end His love became increasingly obvious once His Plan was birthed in Bethlehem Coming as a helpless Child speaks of courage in epic proportions, who else would do this? Doing this would be like sending an elite force into enemy territory unarmed “Amazing love how can it be that You my God would come for me” And this is what we celebrate at Christ-mas Let’s rejoice Blessings Bruce Docker |
