Jesus is Gods Christmas Gift
Christmas morning feeding frenzy for the children Sound familiar? Is this what we really want? Or is it cheapening the day set apart for when His Gift arrived God’s Son, given once for all for all time But instead of the angels voices raised in praise we hear the tearing of gift wrapping and soon after the breaking of a plastic toy or the argument between siblings as to who should be using the present first Brian Andrew in a November issue of Albert and Logan News states “drowning in gifts (is) not a good idea.” He goes on to state the lack of appreciation a child has when too many gifts come his/her way all at once and of the devaluing of those same presents I really don’t remember my childhood Christmas’ nor the gifts, but I do remember family mood and atmosphere in the home so I guess no amount of presents can mask the true nature of a family’s life behind closed doors However there is one Present which can change entire families therefore the home environment, and it is this Gift which is unforgettable and impact not just on children. Instructions come with the Gift and are wrapped up in the Bible. Those instructions talk of relationship with God’s Gift who is a Person. Born in a barn, rested in a feed trough, surrounded by shepherds, wise men and exhausted parents. They named Him Jesus for He was to save the people from their sins/failures to live up to God’s standards This period of the year may be exhausting for some of us too but let’s keep our heads in the instruction manual and who knows but we may have the opportunity to share the Gift this Christ-mas Or receive Him Just like any child would eagerly accept a gift given from their father
