metal on metal is not a comforting sound

In the weeks leading into Christmas there were 2 accidents out front of the church.  The first involving a car and a motorbike, with the second being both cars

The motor bike rider lost control when he swerved to miss a car coming out of the side street whereas with the two cars one was attempting to do a uturn in front of the church and the other sideswiped it.  Metal on metal never is a comforting sound.  In both accidents there was frustration, tears and shock (Kay worked her charm on the children of one car, even showing them through the chapel).  The timing couldn’t be worse –preChristmas rush, picking up a child from school and with one driver being pregnant meant a hospital visit for an ultra sound.  The motor bike rider was also carted off to hospital.  Traffic was backed up into Ipswich RD.  Some directly involved weren’t coping well due in part to the already pressured Christmas season.

This brings me to these questions;

How was your Christmas?

Relaxing?

Too pressured & rushed?

Eat too much & spend too much?

Distressed by the loss of routine or loved the freedom and happiness of it all?

I have heard that for some people this is the worst time of year, but if they could only concentrate on the real reason for the season then perhaps they would find it easier.

The Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us!

Incredibly Good News, for sure

Angels voices raised in song

Incredulous shepherds

Spoken prophecy

A hovering star

Men from afar

Bearing gifts

And with all of this the intent became obvious God was in love with his creation and had unveiled the reason for the season which was his plan to save His people from their sins thus restoring relationship with God through Jesus

Now that is worth celebrating

Blessings
