Ready or Not

Numbers at the Docker household over Christmas ballooned from its normal 3 to 14 and with day visitors added in, rose to 17.  It was hard to find a space where somebody wasn’t sleeping.  The dishwasher and washing machines were going nonstop with even the clothes dryer lending a helping hand.  The pool was well used as was the fridge, stoves and microwave with the wheelie bins overflowing with xmas cheer! (Thankfully the son in laws rubbish bins came to the rescue)
I really don’t know how Marina coped with it being a very busy time at work then to come home to this.  However she did, which is an indication of her inner strength
Leading up to Christmas a cousin then an auntie on my mother’s side (Herbert) passed away and in Marina’s family her stepfather
Combining all of the above it is fair to say we never are too sure what life has in store for us and the pressures which will come our way SO as we all gaze into 2012 some of us may think we are ready for it and others will be feeling much less brave, however and no matter our feeling 2012 will and in fact all ready has thrown itself onto us, willing recipients or not!
“Ready or not” the excited child screams as she chases after her running or should be hiding friends.  2012 is a bit the same, we may feel not ready and desire to hide our faces from it, but it’s come anyway and yes we may be caught out by its unexpected and unwanted demands.  Time is unrelenting, we can put no hold on it so remember this God himself gives us strength for the day (Deuteronomy 33v25) and will create for us a green pasture and a still water so our body, mind and spirit can be revived  and in amongst the unexpected arrivals can be times of great pleasure and sheer joy –My Cup Runneth Over
Unwavering let’s turn our faces squarely into the winds of this coming year knowing our favorite cousins goodness and mercy (Psalm23) are never far away
Blessings
